When NBBJ couldn't find anyone who could model their vision of an organic leaf inspired glass ceiling for the Beijing Olympic Stadium proposal, they were thrilled to discover 3DID.
The complex framing system was meticulously constructed over a prototyped epoxy base, from which over 500 framing components were constructed and fastened into place.
Each of the more than 300 translucent panels were printed, cleaned, hand polished, sized, and fitted. The end result was a picture-perfect representation of their visionary proposal.
